Tortuga, also known as innocence, named by Conceived By Communism, Jullie Beschermer and Phenomenal after the turtle resembled, was a phenomenal island in the Caribbean, surrounded by Beyond the Rush and located north of Paranormal Activty. Of all the pirate islands in the Caribbean, none is the equal of Tortuga. Dangerous, boisterous, drunken, and bawdy... Tortuga is heaven!
Around the Golden Age of Tribalwars, the isle of Tortuga became a major center of World 42 in the 21st century. A tumultuous and violent port, where the tides seem to have swept together the sum of well trained pirates, raw material thieves and drunkards. The island itself became the ramshackle haven for 21 accounts. With its cantered, rotting docks, weatherbeaten buildings, and odd assortment of livestock running free is it far less civilized than the Catapult company. Tortuga appeared to be generally a lawless place, one of the only places a pirate considered to be free with no governing law, despite the rigourous but equitable leaders. One of the most popular places on Tortuga is the main village of Kroet94, the place were our head scoundrel Cenosillicafobia started.
It is a surprise to none that the history of Tortuga is as violent and wild as the place is now. No pirate worth the name would like it any different. From the very start the goal was clear: to capture as much plunder as possible. To grow the fleet and the crew. To raid and pillage and leave before anyone could catch them staying land. For on sea, these cunning outlaws are far too fast and cunning to be caught.
As pirates are inclined to be, the residents of Tortuga often grow bold. In their early history they laid claim to large swaths of the eastern seas of World 42. This sometimes led to friction with other powers, but in their many voyages they also met many who were eager to join the anarchy, lusting for plunder. But only the most wicked and devious of these were allowed to set sail, the rest were sent down with their ships. Some of the rejected men tried to form a group to fight off their fate. They viciously attacked the fleet of pathos11 and even managed to temporarily take over some of the ships, but were repelled as reinforcements came in. As their fleet was sunk or repurposed for more lawless activities, the name Carpe Noctem was forever sent to the realm of history.
